더 트리니티 앳 그랜드 하얏트 서울은 강예신 작가의 <Dreamy Dimensions> 展을 개최합니다. 이번 전시에서는 강예신 작가의 섬세한 작업 과정이 돋보이는 ‘책장’ 연작을 만나 보실 수 있습니다. 작가는 일상의 고민과 걱정에서 벗어날 수 있는 대안적 공간으로 ‘숲의 세상’을 제안합니다. 무수한 이야기가 숲처럼 빼곡하게 꽂힌 강예신 작가의 ‘책장’ 연작에서는 작가의 자아를 대변하는 ‘이야기 토끼’와 은닉되어 왔던 그의 안식처를 엿볼 수 있습니다. 긍정적이고 희망찬 에너지를 내포한 제목처럼, 작품에 담긴 회화적 내러티브는 현대인들의 사소하고 사적인 일상적 감정에 주목하여, 작가의 또 다른 자아로 상징되는 ‘이야기 토끼’의 여정으로 표현됩니다. 따스한 온기가 느껴지는 드로잉 사이를 촘촘하게 채우고 있는 책들의 층을 따라 시선을 옮기다 보면, 사실은 이 수많은 이야기가 우리 모두의 이야기임을 상기시키기도 합니다. 각자만의 쉼을 찾기 위해 이곳에 온 여러분들이 이번 전시 <Dreamy Dimensions>에서 섬세하게 구축된 강예신 작가의 몽상적인 층위를 유영하는 경험을 즐겨 보실 수 있기를 바랍니다.

The artist introduces the concept of ‘Forest World’ as an alternative realm, offering an escape from the everyday concerns that occupy our minds. Within Yeh Sine Kang’s ‘Bookshelves’ series, resembling a dense forest of countless stories, one can easily find the ‘story rabbit’—a representation of the author’s ego— and the concealed sanctuary. Aligned with the optimistic and hopeful energy implied by the artwork title, the pictorial narrative embedded in the artwork delves into the personal, and everyday emotions of contemporary individuals. Depicting the journey of a ‘story rabbit,’ symbolizing the artist’s alter ego, the warm drawings focus on the trivial yet profound aspects of human experience. As you gaze upon the layers of books adorning the shelves, it serves as a poignant reminder that these countless stories are, indeed, the collective narratives of us all.
